He will be sadly missed by his earthly family which include his brother Refugio, sister in law, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Raymond was born on July 21st 1931 to Pedro and Delores Perez Cordero in Atchison, Ks. He was baptized on September 27th, 1931 at All Saints Church in Chicago, Illinois. Raymond was raised in Atchison and attended the local public schools there. He graduated from Atchison High School on May 21st, 1948 and later served in the United States Air Force until he was Honorably Discharged on September 28th, 1950. He then moved to Kansas City where he met the love of his life Judy Kay Reynolds. They married on September 8th 1975 at Redemptorist Catholic Church in the Kansas City, Mo and they resided in the Kansas City area for 44 years until her death. Raymond worked for a card company in Kansas City, Mo until his retirement. After he retired Judy continued to work in downtown Kansas City for various law firms so she would commute via bus where he accompanied her to and from every day because he did not want her to be by herself. They braved all kinds of weather waiting at the bus stops. Always the doting husband when Aunt Judy became ill he would try to convince us that he could walk and carry the groceries from the store down the street, again braving all kinds of weather to take care of his responsibilities as her husband. Following Aunt Judy’s death he moved back to Atchison, Kansas where he resided with his brother, Richard Cordero until his passing in 2017.
To Susan, Sandy, Mike and Judy, he helped care for us and supported my mother after my father’s passing. As he got older, ahem… he was only 39 , we returned his kindness. He will be missed, but always knew he was loved, and cherished by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, Sister Albina Sherman, Brother Richard Cordero, Mother Delores Cordero, and Father Pedro Cordero. He is survived by a brother, Refugio (Adela) Cordero, Chicago Illinois, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
