Philip Gene Archer

Philip was born February 7, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to mother Dorothy (McLean) Archer and father Henry Archer of Liberty, Missouri. He graduated from Wentworth Academy in Lexington, Missouri before enlisting in March 1967 serving proudly in the Infantry Division of the United States Army. After his tour in Vietnam, Philip was honorably discharged in March of 1969, Philip began his career at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant where he met and married Tracy, his bride of 21 years. He retired from Lake City, he lived the rest of his days in Independence, MO. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 2 as well as a proud sponsor of DAV. Philip enjoyed and activities that allowed him to work with his hands. Philip was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals enthusiast, but not as much when they were not doing well. He also enjoyed camping with his wife at their lake lot in Odessa, MO.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Dorothy (McLean) Archer; father, Henry Archer; stepson, Benjamin Wheeler; devoted and loved dog, Molly.

Philip leaves behind wife, Tracy (Roberts) Archer of Independence, MO; daughters Dawn (Paul) Sneed of Kansas City, MO and Danielle (Andrew) Wagnaar of Union, MO; two stepsons, Bo Wheeler of Independence, MO and Toby Wheeler of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Iosefa (Leighton), Paxton, Kailey, Robert, Tanner, Jack and Hayley; three great granddaughters; one great grandson; many others that dearly loved him; and faithful companion dog Daisy.

A visitation for Philip will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a loving remembrance will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A graveside service with military honors will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 3:00 PM at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
