Pete was born in Rosenberg, Texas on May 8, 1947, to Peter O. Sosa and Sara Zamora Sosa.
His family moved to KC, MO in the 50’s where they made their home in the Northeast area of Kansas City. Pete attended Holy Rosary, Karnes, Northeast Jr. and Sr. High School, where he graduated in 1965. There he met his wife of 57 years.
Pete entered the US Army in May of 1966 and was the Company Clerk until his discharge in May of 1968.
Upon his discharge he went to work for Lake City Ammunition Plant and the Kansas City Southern Railroad. In October of 1969 he entered the electrical training program and became a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW Local #124, where he served on the Examining Board and Executive Board. After several years in the trade he went to work for the KCK Public School system as their electrical foreman in charge of 38 buildings and schools. He really enjoyed that job where he met many longtime friends.
Pete retired from the school district and the electrical trade in 2009.
Pete was an avid golfer and when he retired he played at least 3-5 times a week. He met many wonderful people during those outings, but his best times were going to the casino with his best buddies every Thursday night. They were well known at these outings. People would gather around them and watch them play video poker and root them on as they each took a turn hitting the play button. They were a sight to see.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Peter, Sr. and his mother, Sara Z. Sosa.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lupe; son, Michael; daughter, Stephanie (Bill) Turnage; grandchildren, Katie Turnage, Brett Turnage, and Colin Cummins. Pete also leaves behind sisters, Esther (Charlie) Tuggle and Norma (Rich) Sullivan; brothers, Danny Sosa, Steve Sosa, Alex Sosa, and Anthony Sosa, a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and cousins.
Pete will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him dearly.
