Melonie was born on May 3, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lytle G. and Lois A. (Jacobs) Christopherson. Melonie married Dean Hale, the love of her life and professional Dad Joke Teller, on June 9, 1979. Melonie had two daughters, Sandra and Debra, and a stepdaughter, Annette, which she thought the world of. Melonie had five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren that she devoted her free time to showering them with love and cuddles. Melonie spent the majority of her career in banking, although most of the community now remembers her as co-owner of MVP Awards and Engraving, where she and Dean have selflessly served the community of Blue Springs and the surrounding areas for over fifteen years.
Her family remembers her as a kind and patient mother and grandmother who encouraged them to pursue their goals, always take photos at family gatherings and enjoy the little things in life. Melonie was accomplished at sewing and often made the children and grandchildren matching outfits for the holidays, as well as blankets and other projects. She was a loving and dedicated individual who enjoyed being outside at every opportunity, whether it was to garden, go to the lake, watch the grandkids play sports, or to just sit and relax. She will be remembered as someone who was passionate about her family, put up with Dean’s antics (which includes two motorcycles, boats, and finding ‘treasures’ on the street), and would give her most to everyone she came in contact with.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lytle and Lois Christopherson and brother Todd Christopherson.
Melonie is survived by her husband Dean Hale of Independence, Missouri; daughter Sandra Triebel of Raytown, Missouri; daughter Debra (Jim) Bollinger of Blue Springs, Missouri; and step-daughter Annette Hale of Independence, Missouri; seven siblings and their spouses; grandchildren Andrea, Chelsey, Callie, Rachel, and Dustin; and great grandchildren Maggie, Alexandria, Sophia, Jasper, Jaidynn, Clara, Zachary, Xander, De’Shawn.
Visitation is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, July 8th with a Celebration of Life beginning at 3:00pm at White Chapel Funeral Home and Cemetery 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Melonie's life.
