Mary Genevieve “Gen” Sievers, 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 10th, 1921, in Centralia, Illinois, to Louis and Lillian Winter. She had one brother, Bill Winter, and one sister, LaDonn Simpson, both deceased. Gen attended high school in St. Louis and was a graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City. On June 1, 1946, she married Walter William Sievers, who preceded her in death in 1986, after 39 wonderful years of marriage. Gen was a woman who served the Lord and was active in her church family. She enjoyed traveling the world, cross stitching, quilting, and reading the Bible. Gen valued her family, friends, and care givers and in turn was dearly loved and cherished by all who knew her. Gen leaves behind 4 daughters, Holly Johansen (Bill), Cindy Lewis (Steve), Lori Arbuthnot, Corrie Orth (Roy) and a son, Scot Sievers (Karen). In addition, her survivors include 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 7th, with service to follow, at White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, MO.
