Mary Ann passed peacefully in her sleep and is now with her Father in heaven where she will be reunited with her parents, George and Catherine Presko and her two brothers, Joseph Presko and George Presko, Jr.
Mary Ann enjoyed more than 67 years of marriage and partnership with Jay R. Stock and together had 8 children: Cheryl Robertson, Stephen Stock, Curtis Stock, Georgianne Plumberg, Christopher Stock, Brenda Christie, Karen Reid and Richard Stock along with 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was born and spent her early life in Kansas City, Kansas, regularly visiting with the Samborski, Rozich, Korzeniowski, Kalny and Kladusan family members. During her high school years, Mary Ann and her family moved next to her grandparents, Jacob and Eva Samborski to Kansas City North. She graduated in 1950 from North Kansas City High School. While at NKC, she met Jay, where he fell head over heels for the girl that "looked like Elizabeth Taylor and sang like an angel."
Mary Ann was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3414 Ladies Auxiliary, St Raphael's Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society and co-chaired many of the annual fundraising carnivals held at the church. She was also very involved at St. James Catholic School as a room mother and PTA and many school carnivals as well.
As a team, she and Jay spent countless hours helping local charities, moving food and furniture where it was needed, touching many lives and making some dear friends along the way.
Mary Ann loved her family and would light up when the grandchildren and great grandchildren were around. Even into her later years, she loved catch and tossed the ball to anyone that would play with her. She always got a chuckle out of pretending to throw the ball and "faking" the other person out. Mary Ann took her first zipline ride on her 85th birthday and was always up for a good water fight during a family canoe trip.
The blessing of the sick and last rites were given prior to her passing. A mass in Mary Ann's memory will be held at 10 AM on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, Missouri. Masks are required due to covid and compromised attendees. Nor will there be a gathering following the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mary Ann's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Instead of a condolence card, Jay would appreciate a note with a funny story or memory of you and Mary Ann.
