Mamie “Louise” Massey, 93, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away peacefully March 22, 2018. She was born on November 4, 1924 in Lexington, Missouri to Henry and Anna Walker (Parrott). Louise met her husband James when she was 16 years old at Lexington Assembly of God Church where James’ dad was Pastor. They married December 21, 1941 and moved to Kansas City in 1947. Louise was a member of Northland Cathedral for 65 years, and taught Sunday school for 35 years. She retired with A&P Grocery Stores after 30 years. The 20 years after this she made custom draperies for everyone. In her later years she made beautiful quilts for the family.
Louise is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Massey. She is also preceded by both her parents, a sister Mary Ellen and a brother Henry Jr.
Louise is survived by her children Patricia Cobb of Florida and James Massey Jr. (Pam) of Kansas City; grandchildren Eric Massey (Carolyn), Michelle Burgess (Dean); Great granddaughters Haley Burch, Reese and Tatum Massey.
A visitation will be held at Northland Cathedral on Monday, March 26 from 6-8 pm, funeral services will be the following day, Tuesday, March 27 starting at 10 am, again at Northland Cathedral. Burial will be later that day in Lexington, Missouri at 2 pm.
