Johnna Louise Ellis Hughes

Johnna (Ellis) Hughes died peacefully after a long battle with cancer on June 22, 2017 in North Kansas City Missouri at the age of 45. Johnna was born on September 30,1971 in Kansas City Missouri to John and Harriett Ellis. Johnna was an avid lover of her Diet Coke but she loved her family even more. In her final days she took comfort in knowing that she was going to be with her son Chayden. Johnna was a spunky person who was opinionated and straight to the point. Johnna was the person you called if you needed medical advice who would have made an excellent doctor. She was loving and caring. She was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of her back. There was nothing she wouldn’t have done for her family. She was a strong person who was a fighter. Johnna endured a lot in life, more than most people can ever imagine. Johnna is preceded in death by her son Chayden Jayce. She is survived by her parents John and Harriett Ellis, her siblings; Denton (Mary) Ellis, her sister Shelly (Darin) Mansil, her brother Robert Ellis; her children Chaynae Ellis, Chauntae Hughes, Chalaya Jones and Brooke Hughes; her grandchildren Jaxson Spearman, KeiAnna Hughes, Ahniya Hughes and Jayla Franklin, as well as her grandmother Mary Rose. Johnna was loved by many and will be missed by all. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday June 27th at 1:00pm at White Chapel Funeral Home. Johnna’s uncle Minister Harry Rose will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Johnna’s life.
