Jerry L. Frevert, 79, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4th, 2024. He was born August 8, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri, the only child of Elvin and Evelyn (Hoffhines) Frevert. Jerry grew up in Liberty where he graduated from high school.
On April 12, 1969, Jerry married his love Susan “Susie” Weant.
For over fifty years, Jerry and Susie greeted their customers as they walked through the doors at Frevert Hardware. Seven days a week they provided their beloved patrons with advice about a wide range of home improvement projects and fixes. When it was time for some rest and relaxation, they loved vacationing in Mexico. They traveled there at least once a year for over fifteen years taking in the sites and relaxing on the beach. They took scuba diving classes so they could explore further depths of the waters to see a plethora of sea creatures and the beautiful coral reefs. It was during one of these trips when they learned it was difficult for the Mayan Indian tribe in Akumal to get everyday clothing. So they began collecting clothing donations from area residents and businesses to take to the Mayan people, along with some medical supplies.
They also had a passion for Boston Terriers. Over the years they had five Boston Terriers, three of which were rescues.
Jerry and Susie shared 48 devoted years together before her passing in 2017.
Jerry is survived by his cousin, Terry Templeton and wife Judy of New Mexico, as well as many good friends, and his beloved buddy, Cooper.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26th from 9:00am – 11:00am at White Chapel Funeral Home, Reception Room, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119.
