Janet Anne Kies

Janet Anne Kies, 63, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2024, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri. Following her wishes, a cremation has been carried out and her ashes will be returned to her family in Michigan for a private memorial service to be held at a later date.

Born on February 3, 1961, in Alma, Michigan, Janet was the daughter of Donald and Margaret (Benedick) Keller. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1979 and had a long career with General Motors before retiring. Janet spent most of her life in Michigan before relocating to Missouri. She cherished her dog, Buddy, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and quality time with her loved ones, particularly her grandchildren, Liam and Aria. Known for her kindness, infectious laughter, and vibrant energy, Janet was a joy to be around and will be deeply missed.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Raychell Keller, grandchildren, Liam and Aria, and her siblings Crystal and Larry Mepham, Mark and Lynette Keller, Judi and Michael Anderson, Cynthia and Kurt Hrabal, and Dave and Lynnette Keller. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Donald and Margaret Keller, her grandparents, Peter and Mildred Benedick, Walter and Margaret Kosnik, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial donations in memory of Janet may be directed to St. Jude.
