James E. "Ed" Johnson was born in Brookfield, Missouri to Floy and Ethelyn Johnson, brother to Virginia McKenzie and Marilyn Chaney.
He was raised in Linneus, Missouri and attended school in Linneus and Browning, Missouri.
In 1973 he joined the US Army, where he served as an auto and diesel mechanic. During his military service he met the love of his life, Janice Storey, in September 1974. They married on April 19th 1975. He was honorably discharged from the Army in November 1975. On June 23rd 1980, he became the proud father to his daughter Amanda. He later became a grandpa to 2 grandsons Grant and Dylan Fay, and granddaughter McKinley Wroten, and a great-grandpa to Emma and soon Luna. After his time in the military he worked as a supervisor for Forest Window Co., TTI and Z-International (all of NKC).
He leaves behind his wife Janice, daughter Amanda (Ben), grandkids; Grant (Kayla), Dylan (Anna), and McKinley; great-grandkids Emma and Luna; mother-in-law Olivia Storey; sister Marilyn (Bert) Chaney; and several nieces and nephews.
