Jackie (Jack) Lee Marley Jr. passed away peacefully and oh so graciously, Friday, May 26, 2023, at the age of 62. He was born on August 15, 1960, in Independence, MO, the only son to Jackie Lee Sr. and Millie Marley.
Jack was big in stature with a gentle nature but was strong willed. He had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor…and when he laughed, the entire world would laugh with him. He was a gentle giant, of sorts, who was overwhelmingly loyal and so truly kind. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all his years of education and life experiences…solving every one of our computer and electronic problems with little to no effort and always a smart, quick solution!! He was also a master at consoling a troubled heart when the occasional life complication or crisis occurred, sharing his calming advise, using his soothing disposition…yes, a gentle giant he was.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family. Jack was a loving and faithful husband to Sharon Marley. A loving, providing, and adoring father to Morgan Marley and an unconditional loving and caring parent to Tyler and Allyson Marley, both whom he adopted at a young age…both whom he immediately considered his own. He absolutely loved each of them and if you knew him, you certainly knew that.
We thank Jack, for all the years of caring for Jan Lynch, his mother-in-law. It brought such comfort to know that our mom was cared for and could have a good life all the way until Jesus came and took her by the hand. To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest attributes one could have, and his loving care provided such a blessing for her and this family; we will be eternally grateful to him…our gentle giant.
And even in fighting his life’s battle with congestive heart failure, he was resolute, courageous, and unrelenting and what a mighty battle it was. When his time came as his heart grew tired, he carried himself with dignity and full of love as God joyfully welcomed him to his eternal home. He will be so dearly missed, that gentle giant of ours.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Marley; his daughters, Morgan Marley of Austin, TX and Allyson Marley of Murphysboro, IL; and son, Tyler Marley of St. Charles, MO. His stepfather, Darrell Belmudez and stepbrother, Joey Belmudez, both of Jasper, AL; four grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will forever miss him.
In typical Jack fashion, there are no public services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance or fuss but instead, a private celebration of life with his family… just as his quiet, gentle soul wanted.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30
Rest peacefully Jack… May our God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in him, and may you overflow with love by the power of the Holy Spirit. Fly high among the stars my friend…until we all meet again.
