He married Millie Colvin, May 20, 1951 and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Jack was in the music and entertainment business since 1945, starting his music and band leader career in Wichita, Kansas. Upon moving to Kansas City, he joined Jack Collins Theatrical Agency, booking entertainment for conventions, fairs and celebrations. Jack reformed his orchestra at that time to play country clubs, dance clubs and ballrooms in the Midwest. Jack was a member of the Kansas City Federation of Musicians local 34-627. In the early 1960’s Jack opened his own agency to serve the fairs, festivals and conventions along with his orchestra until retiring in 2010. Jack was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Millie; son, Jerry; and bother Norman.
He is survived by his sons, Michael, Philip (Vickie) and daughter in law Donna. He is also survived by four grandchildren Kevin (Joy), Karen (Donny), Christopher and Kasey (Brian) and four great grandsons, Sawyer, Harrison, Kolter and Jett.
Funeral Services are set for 10:30 AM Thursday August 13, 2020 at White Chapel Funeral Home with a Visitation from 10-10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Committal Service will follow the funeral in White Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jack’s name to be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2003 NE Englewood Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64118.
