Helen Evelyn (Bass) Stabile 90, Passed away on June 19 at the home of a friend she was staying with in Riverside, MO. Helen was born on December 25, 1929 in LeFlore County Oklahoma. Her parents were Geams Henry Bass and Mandy Jane (Goodin) Bass.
Although Helen had no children her love was unwavering for all of her Siblings, Nieces and Nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; Husbands Marvin A. Smith and Michael Stabile; Siblings Clarence, Dean, George and Betty. She is survived by a sister Edna M. Mulllenix of Kansas City, MO.
Helen was a star Guard Capitan basketball player at Heavener High School in Oklahoma. In 1946 she started working each summer in North Kansas City at Betty Rose coat factory until completion of High School in 1949. During that time, she met a recently widowed young woman from whom she rented a room. She and Helen Homer were to become lifelong friends.
Both Helens’ were again working together at William Volker Company in KC when she met Marvin Smith from Nebraska. They were to become husband and wife in 1954 until his death in 1989. During their marriage they lived in Fall City, NE for a short time and then moved to the Denver, Colorado area. After several years in Englewood, Colorado they then moved to Port Richey, Florida in 1979. While in Denver Helen worked as a Book keeper for a large Chevrolet dealer.
In June of 1996 Helen married Michael Stabile in Las Vegas. They had a very happy marriage until his death in 2012.
Helen was in the process of relocating to a Senior Living Apartment complex in Kansas City at the time of her passing.
