Harold Lee is survived by his three children, Teresa Deerberg, (Darrell); Myra Thurston, (Ron) and Harold Lee Fox, Jr. He is also survived by Grandson Jason Thurston (Dana) and great grandchildren Noah, Delaney and Grace Thurston. Harold Lee is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, his brother in law Clay Williams, (Cathy) and sister in law, Eldora Dundee.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John Henry Fox Sr. and Flossie Fox; his brothers, James Fox and John Fox; and his wife of 58 years, Blondena Fox. His Grandson Brandon Thurston also proceeded him in death.
Harold Lee lived in Mexico prior to joining the military. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, from 1945 to 1947. Harold Lee attained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was part of the security detail for General MacArthur. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Forty and Eight.
After leaving the Army he worked in the steel mills in Chicago and for General Motors, prior to working for Ford Motor Company for over thirty years.
After retirement, Lee sold cars part time, attended HVAC, small motors and other training at the community college. He enjoyed fixing anything around the house that needed repairs. Lee had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. He was a great Father, loyal friend and enjoyed being the family patriarch.
Harold Lee enjoyed family gatherings, especially for birthdays and holidays, all Knights of Columbus functions and activities, shopping for antiques and attending functions at St. Charles Church.
Harold Lee belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Tri-County Council # 3414, for over 50 years, where he held numerous positions, including Grand Knight, District Deputy and State Squires Chairman. He further created and managed a team of retirees/toymakers who made thousands of handmade wooden toys for dis-advantaged children and hospital patients for many, many years.
He was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish since 1958.
Visitation for Harold Lee Fox, Sr. will be held at 10 am on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 900 N. E. Shady Lane Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 64118. Funeral services will follow at 11 am.
Graveside services will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N. E. Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri. A reception at St. Charles Borromeo Parish will follow the graveside services.
