Etta married Fritz Mutti in 1959; this union was blessed with three sons, Timothy Allen, John Frederick and Martin Kent.
She was a woman of many abilities and passions; she babysat for two children, typed for doctoral students, was a den mother for all three of her sons. She was a Youth director and volunteer coordinator; and Cook of the Week. She enjoyed preparing the weekly church dinner, was a Lab school teacher, Co-chair of the UM Global AIDS Fund. Etta was an Advocate for LGBTQ persons, and also served as a PEO member, a board member of AIDS National Interfaith Network, and was a library volunteer. Etta read lots of books and created many cross stitch pictures. She loved her three boys more than life itself and had suffered through the death of all three sons. She adored her granddaughter, Siobhan Marie.
Etta loved to cook and entertain, relishing long lunches with friends. She was often complimented on her listening skills and basked in Fritz’s love. Etta was a KU basketball fan and accumulated many friends, and was most content sitting in her porch swing.
Etta Mae left this earth on June 7, 2023 after a long, lingering illness.
