Ed lived his entire life in the Kansas City area, and was part of Southeast High School, class of 1961. He enlisted and served his country in the Army from 1966-1969, during the Korean War. He worked for Burns & McDonnell for over 30 years in the lithographic department before retiring. He was a dedicated and loyal employee to the company. He also owned and managed many rental properties.
In 1965, he was married to Barbara Boutross, and had two daughters, Amy and Angie. Although their marriage later ended, Ed found love again in 1998 when he married Linda. She brought two daughters into Ed’s life, Julie and Lisa.
Ed was kind, and a hard worker. He led an active and fulfilling life. He enjoyed motorcycles in his younger years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, boating, and RVing trips traveling the country with his wife Linda; all while listening to tunes from his favorite singer Neil Diamond. He enjoyed playing chess, watching westerns, and going to casinos. He was an excellent cook, and especially in retirement, enjoyed making home cooked dinners for his wife. Ed made friends easily and had several lifelong friends from his childhood.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mildred Nolan. His legacy is carried on by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda Nolan; his daughters: Amy (Scott) Florell and Angie (Mike) Wall; step-daughters Julie (Tom) Bumgardner and Lisa (Mark) Mathewson; grandchildren: Abigail (Cody) Orton, Anna (Caleb) Hightower, Scotty Florell, Nicholas Wall, Noah (Shawna) Bumgardner, Sam Bumgardner, Sarah Bumgardner, Luke Bumgardner, and Madeline Mathewson; and great-grandchild, Gregory Bumgardner.
