Edith Jane Barr, 94, died peacefully on December 21, 2020. She was born on April 17, 1926 in Crocker Missouri to Joseph and Mary Helms. On October 27, 1951 Edith married John Wallace Barr, they were married 34 years until his death on November 29, 1985. The couple was blessed with two sons. Nolan David Barr, January 23, 1953 and Thomas Eugene Barr on November 28, 1955. Nolan sought a career in the Navy on the USS Andrew Jackson (SSBM-619) until his death on April 14, 1973. Thomas (Tommy) set forth a career as a musician until his death on November 2, 2015. Edith had a long career of 30 years with McPike-FoxMeyer until she retired on June 4, 1992. She was an active and dedicated member of the Northland Cathedral Church in Kansas City, Missouri for 45 years.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husband and sons.
She is survived by her two sisters, Ella Mae Barr-Jones and Mildred June Long and many nieces and nephews.
