Dorris Jean (Clark) O’Brien passed away November 1, 2022, in North Kansas City, MO. She was born on January 30, 1937 in New Port, Arkansas to John and Mamie Clark. Dorris moved extensively as a child and finally settled in Kansas City, where she met her husband John O’Brien when she was 14. They were married four years later on September 17, 1955 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage.
Dorris was a homemaker throughout her life and could always be counted on to provide help to family, friends, and neighbors. She had the ability to make everyone feel special and always had room in her heart for one more. She encouraged her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in their many activities and was proud to support any event they were involved in. She will be remembered for her fierce honesty and integrity, and missed for her personalized telephone greetings, lively wit and twinkling tease in her eyes.
Dorris is proceeded in death by her parents John and Mamie Clark, her brother Frederick Wayne Clark, and son in law Johnny Scott.
Dorris is survived by her Husband, six children, Dianna Scott, Danny (Julie) O’Brien, Karen (Randy) Mots, Monica (Ned) Stevens, John (Tina) O’Brien and Colleen Montgomery; 14 Grandchildren (Laurie, Meaghan, Brendon, Patrick, Katie, Kelsi, Tony, Jake, Dylan, Allie Olivia, Lauren, Lindsay, and Lia); 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Parish (900 NE Shade Lane Dr. KCMO) Visitation begins at 11:00am with a funeral mass at Noon, burial immediately following. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery (5001 NE Cookingham Dr. KCMO)
