Donald D. Carpenter

Donald Dean Carpenter, 86, died Thursday May 14, 2015 at NKC Hospice in NKC Missouri. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Della (Stark) Carpenter; his daughter, Sheryl Pratt and husband Rick and his son Mark Carpenter and wife Dolores; 3 grandchildren, Brad Pratt and wife Shelley, Mandy Welch and husband Bryant, and Derick Pratt and wife Jennifer; 5 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Welch, Jake Pratt, Gracie Pratt, Arthur Pratt and David Pratt; along with many nieces and nephews and friends. Donald was born March 15, 1929 in Harwood Missouri; the son of Leon Stratton Carpenter and Sarah Ella (Murrah) Carpenter. He had 4 brothers; Glen, Gordon, Shelby and Alan as well as 3 sisters; Mildred Hicks, Ruby Scott and Helen Staton. He was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter Marcella Pratt. Don served in the United States Marine Corp from 1951 - 1953 and was honorably discharged as Corporal. He and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling. He loved sports, particularly baseball which he played and football. He was a member of Northland Cathedral Assembly of God Church. Service 11:00am Wednesday Northland Cathedral Church Kansas City, Missouri. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial 4:00pm Green Lawn Cemetery Schell City, MO.
