Diana was born in Kansas City, Missouri to George and Darlene Smith. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1965 and was an Operations Manager for Quicksilver Courier Service before retiring.
Her children remember her as a loving and supportive Mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was an intelligent and kind individual who loved animals and was passionate about politics and seeing positive change in the world. One of her favorite hobbies was watching animals live on camera in their habitats, especially the Decorah, Iowa Bald Eagles and their Eaglets.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents, George and Darlene Smith, brother Mike Smith and son in law Joshua Swindell.
Diana is survived by her kitty Georgie, her children; David Schmidt, Molly Orren and her husband Jim, Lara Booth and her husband Jason, grandchildren; Dominick Booth and his wife Caitlin, Skylee Booth and her partner Chris, and Allie Orren, great granddaughter Ivy, sister Elizabeth Barnes, nieces and nephews; Michelle Milligan, Tiffany Wells, Tavia Conover, Daniel Smith, and Colin Barnes, and many cousins and great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Margie Trejo for her long-term friendship and care of Diana.
