She was born on July 16, 1939 in Greeley, CO the daughter of William “Chuck” and Betty (Banek) Johnston. She owned and operated Design Studio of Affordable Decorating in Gladstone, MO for 22 years. She won several interior design awards for the Parade of Homes in the Kansas City area.
Survivors include her husband Larry George of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Terri Bush and her husband, Brett of Smithville, MO, and Kelly Shepherd of Overland Park, KS; step son, Doug George and his wife, Laura of Kansas City, MO; step daughter, Vickie Sabin and her husband, Lance of Sanger, CA; two grandchildren, Blake (Kayla) Bush, Taylor (Harrisen) Bush; three step grandchildren, Christy (Eric) Harris, Valerie (Brian) Koenig and James Martin George; and seven step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family would like to thank New Mark Care Center and North Care Hospice House.
A private family service will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home.
