Bruce was born on February 6, 1948 in New York City to Winfield and Maxine (McIvor) McKeon. He grew up in Queens (Bayside), New York, and graduated from Martin Luther High School. Thereafter, he graduated from Park University with a degree in teaching (yep). While there, he met and subsequently married MaryJane Hobbs in 1972.
After setting up residence in Kansas City, Missouri, Bruce began working for a local industrial supply warehouse as a salesman. In time, he ascended to become a successful owner/operator of MKS Pipe & Valve, from where he retired in 2008. Outside of his professional pursuits, Bruce was an avid outdoorsman and wildlife enthusiast. He particularly enjoyed wintering in the Caribbean. He rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy life. His infectious laughter will be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have experienced it.
Bruce is preceded in death by both his parents; his brother Scott McKeon and his daughter Stacy McKeon.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 51 years MaryJane McKeon; his two sons Sean and Devin (wife Rebecca); and his cherished grandchildren: Colin, Liam, Meena and Victoria.
A visitation for Bruce will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Harvesters or the City Union Mission.
