Betty B. Porter, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully April 12, 2016 at her residence after living a long and happy life. Brought up on a farm she graduated in a one room school house then moved to Delano, California where she started her life’s adventure. She started working as a teller in a bank at 18 years of age in Delano, California which led to a banking career later in life as a Bank President and CEO in the small communities of Appleton City and Butler, Missouri. She served on the Missouri Banker’s Association Board as Secretary, and was very involved in many facets of the banking community throughout the State of Missouri. Betty was a poet, loved the writing of quips, cards, and contributions to her many social gatherings. Her sense of humor and personality would fill a room, with love and beauty. For the longest part of her life, her grandchildren were very much a part of her life and love. She always loved having her grandchildren at her home, feeding them, watching them play, and being an example to her family that would play a part of their futures for as long as they lived. Her faith in God has led her to an eternal home with Him and she will always live in the hearts of her family. Greatly missed will be her movie star quality personality, her love of words and writing them for others, and her appreciation of her fellow man.
