She is survived by three of her four children, Gerald, Jr (Jennifer) of Center Point, TX; Gloria Reeves of Kearney, MO; Gale Gann (Harold) of Conway, MO; and daughter-in-law Jackie Dewey of Claycomo, MO; ten grandchildren: Jason Dewey, Amy Wehrli, Trent Witte, Lisa Strong, Michelle Reid, Cara Porter, Holly Dewey, Tanna Ritchey, Mariah Dewey, and Brian Gann; 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Betty was a homemaker first, raising her four children while cultivating a huge vegetable garden, canning and making jellies and jams. She was a great cook and baker. After the children were raised she started working outside the home for H&R Block for 10 years of great service. She was a charter member of and very active at Tower View Baptist Church, serving in many capacities prior to her illness. Her volunteer church work included camp mother at New Hope Camp in Holt, MO, Vacation Bible School, Girls Auxiliary (GA) leader, Bookkeeping, Choir Member, and Sunday School teacher. She lived and walked the faith she believed in.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Nannie (Lawless) Boyer; six siblings, Grace, Wayne, Bill, Grant, June, and Bobby; her husband of 68 years, Gerald W. Dewey; son Garland Dewey; son-in-law Gary Reeves; and two grandchildren Cameron and Corey Hesher.
