Barbara Ann Ager, 81, passed from this world Tuesday, December 13th, 2022.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Beals, Barbara is survived by a loving family
that includes:
• Husband, Raymond Ager
• Daughters, Gretchen (Darrell) Tranbarger of Platte City, MO; Jennifer (Don) Stanton of
Kansas City, MO; and Michelle Ager Mayhew of Gladstone, MO
• Son, Jeffrey (Diane) Ager of Liberty, MO
• 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren
Born April 22, 1941, Barbara grew up in North Kansas City, MO, where she attended North
Kansas City High School, graduating in 1959.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Raymond, on October 9th, 1959, with whom she
shared a loving and devoted relationship of over 60 years. Living together in Kansas City and
Gladstone, they enjoyed attending church, dancing, and playing golf and cards with friends.
While raising their four children, Barbara began attending Penn Valley Community College in
Kansas City, MO, ultimately earning her Associate’s degree in Computer Science. She then
applied her newly-acquired skills in the corporate world at such well-known companies as
Farmland Industries, Sprint, and UMB Bank. Very intelligent and highly respected, Barbara was
always a “go-to” resource for not only her peers, but also her bosses.
Upon retirement, Barbara and Raymond moved to Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, where they
continued their enjoyment of golf, with Barbara serving in a variety of leadership roles in various
women’s golf organizations.
In 2019, Barbara and Raymond moved back home to Kansas City to be closer to family, with
Barbara spending her final years at Gower Convalescent Center in Gower, MO.
A Celebration of Life Service is set for 2 PM, Friday December 30, 2022, at White Chapel Funeral Home with a visitation from 1-2 PM prior to the celebration. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery following the service.
The family requests donations to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org in lieu of flowers.
