I was visiting a friend a couple of months ago in Seaview Manor when, by chance, I had the pleasure of speaking with Sarah. She told me that she still had the picture I gave her at time of your dad's tragic passing. I was very touched by that; that she would remember after all those years, and by the wonderful memory that the thought of the picture brought back to me. You may or may not know (you were all pretty young at the time) that I fished briefly with your dad, a man I very much liked and respected. One morning we were on deck together at sunrise just before we started hauling the trawl (longline) we had set the night before. It was a magnificent morning; the ocean was uncharacteristically calm, the weather was warm (it was July), and the sunrise was spectacular. It was a scene that would inspire a poet! Your father, normally a man of few words, looked at me and said: "Ah Frankie, is there anywhere in the world you would rather be on a morning like this?" I of course agreed that there was not (and there was no doubt in my mind that your dad felt the same way). Even though I was still a  kid (19 or 20),  I was so taken by the experience that I rushed forward to retrieve my camera (there were no iphones then) and snapped a picture of your dad. It remains a vivid and treasured memory more than 50 years later.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Sarah and offer our heart-felt condolences to all family and friends who loved her. She was a wonderful, thoughtful and generous human being who always offered a friendly smile, a caring glance, sage advice and laughter to one and all.  We will hold her warmly in our hearts a miss her dearly.  Please be sure to take really good care of each other during this very difficult time.
