We the family wish to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and sister. Myrna passed away peacefully on February 18, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with family at her side following a brief illness. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Thomas William & Annice Regina (MacDonald) Locke. Myrna was a registered nurse at the Glace Bay General Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, and was very involved with all functions at the church. Myrna was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with her lady friends. She loved to play cribbage with her husband. She took much pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are husband of 56 years Clarence, daughters Sheila Anne (David Wright) Bridgetown, Susan Lynn Miller (Gary MacConnell) Hammonds Plains, sons Thomas Glen(Colleen) Glace Bay, Paul Alexander (Tanya Peckmann)Bedford, sister Coleen Locke-Macleod Glace Bay, brother Billy Locke (Diane) Glace Bay, grandchildren Jeffrey Glen Miller (Tara Lyn), Mark O’Neill, Carter O’Neill, Maggie Beth O’Neill, Cameron O’Neill, Jacob Miller and Michael Miller. Visitation for the late Myrna Miller will be held on Thursday February 21, at Patten Funeral Home 71 Union Street Glace Bay from 7-9, and Friday 2-4 &7-9. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 23 at 2pm in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church with Rev. Allan MacLellan officiating. Burial to take place in Black Brook Cemetery. Donation can be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church or to the S.P.C.A. Family flowers only. At this time the family would like to send a special thank you to her best friends Lorna & Rae.
