Ronald "Ron" Meier

Ronald “Ron” Meier, 81 of Gering, took his last breath on Saturday, May 27, at 5:27 a.m. As per his wishes and request, he was cremated and there will be no service. Memorials have been set up to Alpha One Foundation and Regional West Hospice. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ron was born July 26, 1935, to Alex and Dolly Meier. He grew up in Scottsbluff and married Lois Cochran of Melbeta. They have four daughters, Bev (Terry) Dishman of Gallatin, Tennessee, Rhonda (Jay) Templar of Gering, Barb at home and Brenda (Rod) Loose of Mitchell. They have 6 grandchildren, David (Kris) Dishman of Anchorage Alaska, Dawn Dishman Rardon of Gallatin, Tennessee, Jadie (Dan) Beam of Gering, Trevor (Melissa) Templar of Blair, Nebraska, Brady Loose of Mitchell and Brant (Michelle) Loose of Auburn, Nebraska. They have 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Allen (Charlotte) of Clovis, California, Steve (Sally) of Mitchell, and sister Diane (Ron) Lackey of Gering.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth and baby sister, Arlene.
