Memorial services will be Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:30 am. A memorial has been established for his grandchildren per his request, they can be addressed to his daughter Nicole Hanke and mailed to PO Box 613 in Gering. He was born March 19, 1953 in Torrington, WY to John and Betty (Smith) Bishop. He received an early education at Huntley schools and graduated from Lyman High School in ’71. He attended Chadron State College and graduated with a Bachelors in Education. He taught industrial arts and AutoCAD at Hershey, Minatare, Gering, and Potter-Dix for a total teaching career of 40+ years along with a successful career in construction.
Mark was an avid hunter, fisher and dog lover. He loved spending time with his grandchildren teaching them to fish, build, and play baseball/softball. If he wasn’t out on the lake, he was hanging with his friends at the Union.
Survivors include his daughter Nicole (Caleb) Hanke and grandchildren Elijah (#1), Genevieve (#2), Emmett (#3), Joseph (#4), Elizabeth (#5) and Catherine (#6). Brother John (Susan) Bishop, Sister Karan(Curtis) Dillahay, close family friend Bob (Janelle) Anderson, many nieces and nephews, Jackie Bishop and his beloved dog Kase.
He was preceded in Death by his grandparents, parents, and friend Jim Hanson.
