Jere Lea Prieels

Jere Lea Prieels, age 57, formerly of Gering, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with loved ones by her side. She was born on December 30, 1967, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Jerry Wayman and Carole Gross.

Memorial services will be held on April 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Gering Memorial Chapel. Interment will be held at the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering, NE. Memorials may be given to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.geringchapel.com.

At the age of 12, Jere moved with her mom and sisters to Mitchell, NE. Through her sister, Jada, she met her husband, Henri Prieels. They were married on May 9, 1992. They were blessed with 2 children, Mathieu and Kelsea. Jere spent the majority of her life watching and enjoying her nieces and nephews. Her most enjoyable job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother which she excelled at.

She is survived by her husband, Henri; her children, Kelsea (Tharyn) Curtis and Mathieu (Marisa) Prieels; her grandchildren, Aaliyah and Haisley Curtis; her mother, Carole Gross; and her sisters, Jo (Amy) Mikesell, Jana (Paul) Richard, Jada Thompson (Jeff), Jodi Eckhardt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Wayman and her sister Jenny Lou Wayman of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
