James D. Ramirez, 63, of Gering, died March 17, 2020 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. A Private Family Ceremony will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church with Father Mike McDonald officiating. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. James was born March 14, 1957 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Steve and Sally (Salas) Ramirez. He received his education in the Gering Schools, graduating from Gering High School.
Survivors include his mother Sally Ramirez; sister Sandra Benavides; nephew Matthew Benavides (Tara Delezene); niece Stevie Benavides (Nathan Musfelt); great nephews John Luke Benavides, Giovanni Gomez, Alexander Gomez, Benjamin Gomez, and Jhett Musfelt; aunt Margaret (Joe) Sanchez; uncle Chuck Salas; and several extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Steve Ramirez.
