Her memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:30 am at West Lawn Cemetery with Rev Bethann Black officiating. At her request, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Gering United Methodist Church in her name. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.geringchapel.com for the family. Gering Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with services.

Helene was born on December 6, 1921 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to John and Ester (Schwartzkopf) Schraeder.

She married Kenneth Jesse May 3, 1942 and two daughters were born to this union Ruthie and Mary Kay.

She was a member of the Gering United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Mary Kay Meyer; grandchildren Robin Gardner, Renea Graves and Chad Meyer; great grandchildren Taylor Gardner Ashley Gardner, Evan Graves, Brittney Graves, Cameron Meyer and Kodee Meyer; sister Shirley Bauxbaum and numerous nieces and nephews.
