Theresa, a beacon of love, compassion, and kindness, passed from this life on June 4, 2023 in Georgetown, Texas leaving behind a profound impact on all those who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her unwavering spirit and genuine care for others touched countless hearts and minds. Her warm smile, tender words, and selfless actions were a testament to her extraordinary character.
She was born on February 10, 1941 in Salcette, Goa, to Francis Xavier Jorge and Maria Escolastica. On June 3, 1969, she married her beloved husband John in Bombay, India. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2020. Theresa has since lived in Georgetown for the past 2 ½ years. She was a devout Catholic and regularly attended mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She found solace through listening to broadcasts of Catholic masses and following her favorite spiritual discourses on YouTube, such as those by Billy Graham and, more recently, Fr. Michael Payyapillai of Colombo Divine Retreat.
Theresa dedicated over 30 years of her life to her work as an Insurance Administrator at the Life Insurance Corporation of India. Upon her retirement in 1996, she found joy in pursuing her hobbies of stitching, knitting, and crochet. Theresa had a remarkable ability to connect with others, making friends wherever she went. Her wide, welcoming smile and outgoing personality were her trademarks, and she spread warmth and kindness to all who encountered her.
In addition to her husband John, Theresa was preceded in death by her brother Braz Jorge. She is survived by her children, George John and Shilpa John; her grandchildren Gianna, Gavin and Isaac and her sister Carmelina Borges.
A funeral mass to celebrate Theresa's life will be held on June, 16th 2023 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Central Time at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas (https://sjvroundrock.org/).
