As a young boy, Scott accepted Christ in his heart and joined the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Georgetown, Texas. He served there faithfully throughout his school years. After marrying his wife, Marsha, Scott moved his membership to the Calvary’s Hill Baptist Church. Under the leadership of Rev. Danny K. Edmond, Scott was ordained as a Deacon of the Church. At this time, Scott participated in Men’s Ministry, the Choir, the Male Chorus, and became the Youth Ministry Leader. Under Pastor Robert W. Lynch, Jr., Scott became the Chairman of the Deacon Board. In addition, he became the Sunday School Superintendent and Adult Sunday School Teacher as well as the church clean up person. Scott continued to work in church faithfully until his health started to decline.

Proverbs 18:24 NKJV says - A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother-Scott was that man. Scott loved everybody and was willing to help anyone in any way he could. Scott had friends across the globe. Everywhere he travelled he ran into a new friend or a friend he had met some time in the past. Scott could go on a trip and look out in the crowd and discover a friend he had played ball with in a tournament or a friend from school or even church. He went on 2 different job interviews just to discover the person that would be interviewing him or become his boss was a childhood friend. Scott enjoyed life. At age 57 Scott did not have a single gray hair on his head. He lived a very stress-free life.
He was a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, godfather, mentor and friend to all who knew him. Scott was talking to his daughter one Sunday at church before the service began. He played a song and told her to play that song at funeral—Scott said that song represented how he truly felt about life. Scott worked for the City of Georgetown as the Park Foreman/Supervisor for 13+ years. He then decided to buy a dump truck and became the owner/operator of DSD Trucking. He and his 2 brothers-in-law ran trucks together for 10+ years. He then started working for Texas Outdoor Power Equipment in Georgetown, Texas for the last 10 years of his life. Scott will be truly missed by many.
