Ruth married the love of her life, Claude Edward Dotson on April 11, 1971 in Englewood, Florida and thus began their 51 years of married life until Claude passed away in 2022.
Ruth began her college career at Berry College in Georgia in 1975 and though it was 18 years later, after moving to Texas and raising her family she finished that endeavor at Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas.
Ruth was no doubt a hardworking woman, holding many jobs, often 2 or 3 at a time, including teaching in both Killeen & Jarrell, Texas and ending with her leading role as “The Top Hat Lady” taking tickets at the City Lights theatre in Georgetown, Texas.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Claude Edward Dotson, son Boyd Willmott, Brother-in-law Tiny Dotson and two sisters-in-law Renate Dotson and Bonnie Dotson.
She is survived by her greatest treasures: Daughters Nanette Hughes & Claudette Price. Grandchildren: Shelby Dotson and partner Jamie Cavness, Dakota Dotson, Ethan Hughes, Noah Mouton, Olivia Mouton, Angel Price, Emile Price Jr. and Haley Price. Great-Grandchildren: Lyric, Skyler, Edward, Kinley, Junior, Claude James, K’Lani, Tyler & Terri and Great Great Grandchild Haysly. Her sister Peggy Bostwick, Sister-in-law Emma Bell, Brother-in-law Donnie Dotson and wife Sandy, Dale Dotson and wife Susan and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628. A funeral service will occur at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Corn Hill Cemetery, Hugh Smith Lane, Jarrell, Texas 76537.
Pallbearers: Dakota Dotson, Ethan Hughes, Noah Mouton, Donnie A. Dotson, Scotty Dotson and James Bostwick.
Honorary Pallbearers: Edward Dones, Junior Dones, Claude James Castillo and Brad Parks.
