Mildred is survived by twin daughters, Lynn Deacon of Yakima, Washington and Lynda Rowan of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Shannon (Phil) Moyer and Paul (Patti) Deacon and his 2 children: Allison and Randy.
After graduating high school Mildred went to Greeley, Colorado School of Business College where she worked for a law firm in Denver. On a blind date she met and fell in love with Jim Morgan. They were married in Denver.
After several moves with the Air Force, Mildred and Jim settled in Van Nuys, California 1963 where she worked for Valhalla Mortuary until 1972. Upon retirement they moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado and as snowbirds they made Mission, Texas their permanent home until Jim's passing in 2005. Mildred moved to Georgetown, Texas to live close to her daughter, Lynda until her passing.
Mildred's hobbies included hand embroidery and crewel - which are now family treasures.
Preceded in death by her parents Delilah and Palmer Conant (co-founders of The Monte Vista Journal), husband of 63 years James G. Morgan, Jr.; brothers Homer Conant and Jennings Conant and sister Mary Lucille Offutt.
Funeral services will be held at the Colorado State Veterans Cemetery in Monte Vista, Colorado at a later date.
