Maureen was born in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1938, and graduated from Gloucester City High School in New Jersey in 1956. Creative, athletic and graceful, she performed in local dance and groups and theater and led her high school marching band as a drum majorette. She was a talented figure skater and through a wonderful arc of fate crashed into a young man who would eventually become her husband.
She traveled the world as a military wife and mother, recognized at Rhein Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany as the Officer’s Wives Club “Wife of the Year” in 1973 for her contributions in beautifying and improving the base environment for military families and service men and women. After 22 years as a military wife, Maureen worked for many years as an Accounts Payable Manager for R.H. Macy’s in Citrus Heights, California and Retail Manager at Skate Town in Roseville, California.
Maureen’s intelligence, wit, and creativity live on in her children and grandchildren, who will forever cherish memories of her art projects, baking, cake decorating, line dancing, and country music.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Maureen’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
Arrangements by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564.
