Known by family and friends as Margie, she graduated from the Baylor School of Nursing in 1952. That same year she wed Charles Swearingen and became an enthusiastic Aggie by marriage. She was Volunteer of the Year at the Genesis Women's Shelter, volunteered tirelessly for many Georgetown schools, the Annunciation Maternity Home, the Georgetown Public Library, and Project Linus where she handmade countless numbers of blankets for hospitalized and homeless children. Marjorie was a member of The Worship Place in Sun City. She had an incredible desire to see the world, and traveled to see as much of it as she could.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Swearingen, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Mitt Price; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Patti Swearingen; and son, Keith Swearingen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Corinne Price, Marjorie Manning, Joanna Criswell, Joel Swearingen, Hailey Neds, Jeffrey Swearingen; and her great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Nate Criswell, Nora and Layla Swearingen, and Levi and Scout Jane Manning.
