Linda Lou “Lyn” VonAchen, age 75, of Spanish Fork, Utah (formerly of Georgetown, Texas) passed away peacefully at her home on November 5, 2020. She was born in Green River Township, North Dakota on December 19, 1944. Lyn was raised by Joseph C. Steele and Ellen Willey Steele.
Lyn graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She married her best friend and soul mate, Donald “Don” VonAchen on May 16, 1970. She worked as a human resource director at Mountain Land Supply in Orem, Utah. She also had her own business and did taxes out of her home for the IRS.
Lyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a passion for bowling, crocheting, playing cards, camping, and fishing. She also enjoyed watching her grandkids play baseball and their dirt track racing. She loved being around family and friends and she loved travelling with her husband Don.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Mike (Celia) VonAchen, Michele Wozab, and Jamie (Jessica) VonAchen; grandchildren, Nicole Hull, Kristen VonAchen, Zachary (Caitlyn) Miller, Austin (Breaunna) Miller, Garrett VonAchen, Mikey Baldwin, Alexis (Derek) Rightsell, Briley VonAchen, and Whittney VonAchen; great-grandchildren, Isabell Hull, Samuel Vickers, Andrew Hull, Lyla Vickers, and Benjamin Hull. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Icy Cary; brother, Laurence (Jenny) Steele, niece, Janine Hulet; brother-in-law, Richard Morgan; adopted grandson, Kris Olsen; and her best friend, Mary Lou Carlson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald VonAchen; twin sister, Lonnie Morgan; mother, Ellen Willey Steele; and her father, Joseph C. Steele.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. on Monday, November 16, 2020 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with funeral services to follow at 11:30 A.M. Graveside services will be later in the afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. To ensure the safety of the family and guests, we request that masks be worn at all times and social distancing be practiced.
