Kitty married William “Bill” Teachworth when she was 22 and had her daughter Mary when she was 24. They lived in Houston, New Orleans and Fort Worth. Bill owned Truck Lines, Crane business and a Feed Mill. Bill passed away in 1970.
After Bill passed away Kitty worked in Houston at the University of Houston in the Optometry Department.
After being widowed 18 years Kitty went to Crowley to see some friends and met up with an old beau, Colvin Fontenot. She had previously broken up with Colvin by way of a “Dear John Letter” she had written after he joined the Navy during the war. They married and had ten wonderful years living Los Altos, California. Colvin passed away in 1998.
Kitty moved to Georgetown because her dear friend since they were babies wanted her to come. So she and Judy Tabor lived and played close together. They both made a lot of wonderful friends with a lot of card playing and shopping going on.
Kitty always spent Holidays with her family. She has one daughter, Mary and her husband Doug; three grandchildren, Clay and wife Lillian, Karan Rider and her husband Ryan and Karla Read and husband Brad; and six great-grandchildren, Brett, Lauren and Emily Carter, Jackson Rider and Ryleigh and Kadyn Read.
In November Kitty just celebrated her 90th Birthday at Mary’s home all of her family was there.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 27, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Bluebonnet Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kitty’s honor to: American Cancer Society, c/o LaVerne Tonn, P.O. Box 407, Georgetown, Texas 78627 or a charity of choice.
