Juannell was born in San Jose, California. After high school, she moved to Galveston Texas. After returning from a recreational trip to Austin, she decided to relocate to the capital city. There she met George and they married and had two children. After several moves, they permanently settled in Central Texas where she remained until her death. Juannell worked several different jobs for the state of Texas, finally retiring from the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality in 2008. Juannell loved music, various arts and crafts, including oil painting. She loved investing in people, especially young women. She formed the Christian outreach ministry City Girls For Jesus, where she taught basic life skills like cooking, fashion and proper etiquette. Most of all, she loved sharing her love for Jesus with so many different kinds of people. Her table was always open and she regularly housed people who were in various forms of need in their life.
A memorial service for Juannell will be held Tuesday, January 31st at 10:00 at Hope Chapel in Austin.
