Jovita was born on March 15, 1922, in Granger, Texas, to Anastacio and Rosa Martinez. She will be celebrated for her great smile, her strong character and her compassionate demeanor. She was an avid football fan who loved to keep up with the Eagles, the Longhorns and the Cowboys. She will also be remembered for the wonderful meals…the tamales, enchiladas, tacos and homemade tortillas that she created and shared with family and friends. Jovita loved life to the fullest, which is exemplified by her involvement at St. Helen Catholic Church, her participation in social activities at the Wesleyan and her resolve to never turn down an invitation to go out to eat, go to the movies or visit with family and friends. Like some of those that came after her, Jovita never graduated from college. Like many of those that came after her, she never graduated from high school. However, Jovita has done something that none of us reading this right now have done…she has GRADUATED TO GLORY!
Survivors include her sister, Janie Correa of Georgetown, Texas; brother, Constancio Martinez of Georgetown, Texas; daughter, Carmen Cantu of Georgetown, Texas; son, Pete Reynaga of Georgetown, Texas; daughter-in-law, Minnie Reynaga of Georgetown, Texas and grandsons, Alex Reynaga of Georgetown, Texas, Joe Reynaga of Georgetown, Texas, Ricky Castro of Austin, Texas and Rob Castro of Dallas, Texas.
