John R. “PaPa” Swindell, Sr., age 84, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010. He was born on July 14, 1926 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents Robert C. Swindell and Hope (Flintoff) Swindell.
He is preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Swindell.
He is survived by daughters, Cathey Hubenthal and husband Glen and Teena Savage and husband Phil all of Georgetown, Texas; son, Johnny Swindell, Jr. of Georgetown, Texas; grandchildren, Mindy Hogan and husband Michael of Aubrey, Texas, Kami White-Waden and husband Steve of Lubbock, Texas, Misty Young and husband Chris of Georgetown, Texas, Jason Hubenthal and wife Lindsay of Keller, Texas, Keith Savage of Huntsville, Texas, Erik Savage and wife Michelle of California, Julie Savage of Huntsville, Texas and Brittney Hubenthal of Round Rock, Texas; great-grandchildren, Monica and Kenny Hogan of Aubrey, Texas, Chloe and Jacob Savage of California, Taylor Waden of Lubbock, Texas and two on the way, Baby Waden due January 2011 and Cade Young due December 2010; and extended family, Linda Crutchfield and family of Dallas, Texas and Jim and Jan Williams of Granger, Texas.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas with Chaplain Rodney Kruse officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Savage, Glen Hubenthal, Jason Hubenthal, Steve Waden, Michael Hogan, Chris Young, Jim Williams and Keith Savage.
The Swindell family would like to give a special thanks to Jackie Thompson for the love and care she provided to John in his home. The family would like to also express their gratitude to the staff of Scott and White Hospice especially to Cheryl Boutilier, Vickie Zobal, Vanessa Billingsley, Marie Bennett, Rosemary Lara, Patty Meyer, Vickie Jordan, Angela Lowman, Rodney Kruse, and Dr. Michael Moffitt.
