On December 10, 1942, Jack was born in Hartford, CT to Francis J Pellegrino and Nora Elizabeth (Dunn) Pellegrino. After graduation from Farmington High School, he served four years in the US Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed on the island of Crete where he copied Morse Code. Jack was self-employed for much of his professional life. However, the most important job to him was serving as a “Jack-of-all-trades” at New Life United Pentecostal Church, where he was a member for close to 25 years. Upon their retirement, Jack and his wife, Josie, traveled extensively in their motor coach throughout the United Sates visiting as many National Parks and Presidential Libraries as possible. They were members of and traveled with the Alpine Coach Association until settling in Georgetown, TX in 2014. After moving to Georgetown, Jack and Josie became members of Georgetown Country Club. In true “Jack-fashion,” he quickly made many new friends out on the course. He regularly played in weekly games with various groups, tournaments with his daughter, Marcie, and in late 2018 made a hole-in-one on Hole 17.
Jack was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother James F Pellegrino.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Josie) Pellegrino, his daughter, Marcie Leigh Schmidt, and son-in-law, Erik Peter Schmidt, all of Georgetown, TX. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent level of care given to Jack during his two week stay in ICU at St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center.
A memorial service for Jack will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628.
