Jean Louise Greene

Jean Louise Slaubaugh Greene the eldest of 3 children born to Revie Slaubaugh and Beatrice Guthrie on November 19, 1934. Jean was reunited with her parents, her husband of nearly 50 years L. Don Greene and a son Gerald D. Greene in Heaven on February 2, 2019.

Jean was an active member in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 50 years. She worked in the recovery field as a counselor for many years and continued working until age 80 because she loved helping others to achieve, maintain and know the joys of living a sober life.

Jean and Don raised a grandson Jeremy Greene from infancy into adulthood, now married to Kim with the newest great-grandson Nolan Greene of Harlingen, Texas.

Jean is survived by her son Richard and wife Vicki Greene, grandsons Ryan and wife Kelly Greene and grandson Aaron and wife Tiffany Greene and great grand children James, Veronica, Malcolm and Caitlin Greene of Austin, Texas.

Another son Danne and wife Valerie Greene of Escondido, CA along with a grand daughter Christina and husband Dustin Wingrove and their children, Kalei, Alyssa, and Kyra Wright of Fallbrook, CA. Grandson Christopher and wife Amber Greene and great grandsons Trenten and Malachi Greene of Buckeye, AZ.

Jean is also survived by her daughter Teri and husband Dr. David Auch of Chancellor , SD and granddaughter Angelique and spouse David Losse of Kansas City, KS. Grandson Johnathan and wife Amy Auch and great-granddaughters Isabella and Sophia Auch of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jean is survived by her sister Ruthann Peterson and her children and grandchildren along with her brother Ray and his wife Cindy Slaubaugh and their children and grandchildren all of Illinois.

A granddaughter Nicole Greene and great grandchildren Natalia McMahan and Lupito reside in San Antonio, TX.

Jean was very proud of the fact that her 3 living children all had single and long-lasting marriages and blessed by the multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren who have close family relationships. Jean was also very excited to know that she was also going to be blessed by a great-great granddaughter this coming May.

One of her other joys in life was the “cousin reunion” in the Outer Banks that she attended from time to time.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion.

A Memorial Service is planned for April 11, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas.
