We are filled with deep sadness as we announce that Gregory Joseph Hamilton, a resident of Kempner, Texas, has been called home to his heavenly father unexpectedly on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 41.
Greg is survived by his wife, Jamie Hamilton; his children, Lilly, Ryland, Dazee, and Koree; his mother, Gina Hamilton of Copperas Cove; his brothers, Steven and Glenda Hamilton of Lometa, Carl and Tracy Hamilton of Florence, Johnathan and Rachal Hamilton of Liberty Hill, David Hamilton, and Jeffery Hamilton; his sisters, Amanda and Chris Staton of McKinney, Jennifer Hamilton of Leander, Holly and Chad Gilley of Liberty Hill, Diane and Rodney Donald of Leander, Pam Randall, and Frances Hamilton; and many very special nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Hamilton; his grandmother, Claira; and many other beloved family members.
Greg was a man of many talents and he used them well. From amazing father, loving husband, brother, uncle, best friend, mechanic, heavy equipment operator, comedian, handyman, coach, mentor, and trickster. His laugh was one of a kind and infectious. If you were blessed to know him, you knew of his amazing love for his family, hunting, guns, bullet making, teaching others of his endless and sometimes useless knowledge, and that there is nothing you can't learn from YouTube.
Greg never met a stranger and would help any and all that needed it, no matter when, where, or what. He loved deeply and unbiasedly. There are many lives that he has touched and many memories he created that will never be forgotten.
Greg's work here may be done, but his next assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, and a reunion with his father and other family members he has missed for too long.
A visitation for Gregory will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis, with burial to follow at Williams-Buck Cemetery, 1035-1069 Co Rd 202, Liberty Hill, TX 78642. The family requests that all attendees wear Greg's favorite color, blue, in his honor. Following the service, there will be a bereavement dinner at 11795 North Highway 183, Florence, Texas 76527.
