Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Erin Gilbert and by her husband, David Robert Burch, who was her true love - - “the one” she had waited to find.
Fran is survived by her devoted daughter, “Red” Burch, whom she “loved longer”; her sister, Pat McGahey; her brother, Ronald Gilbert; and her six nieces and nephew; as well as her friends from her beloved First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
Fran was a pioneer woman in the field of electronics sales, succeeding as one of the first female salespersons in electronics at the start of the electronics boom in the Silicon Valley. She was hard-working, well-traveled, well-dressed, and well-accessorized at all times. Fran had a sharp wit and a ready smile that will be greatly missed.
Special thanks are extended to the caregivers at Estrella Oaks for the loving care they provided to Fran in the last months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran’s memory to: FBCGT (Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church of Georgetown, Texas), 1333 W. University, Georgetown, Texas 78628.
Plans are underway for a celebration of Fran’s life to be held sometime in September.
Arrangements by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564.
