Doris Hagans of Georgetown, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on July 10, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born in El Paso, Texas on September 8, 1925 to Martha and Herbert Teat. She was one of four children.
After retirement, Dick and Doris traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada in their travel trailer. They were charter members of the Promenaders Square Dancing Club and attended Texas Longhorn football games for 43 years. Doris was always very active in the church and she and Dick were long time members of St. John's United Methodist Church in Austin and First United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Doris was in leadership with Community Bible in Georgetown for over 12 years.
Doris is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dick Hagans; daughters, Linda Hagans and Nancy Driskell; grandchildren, Melissa and Ryan Helwig, Stephanie and James Williams, Shannon and Joseph Greensage, Greg Gosdin, and Grant Gosdin; and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Chandler and her husband, James; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, David Hagans, and brothers, Max and Herbert Teat, and granddaughter, Brittany Mancias.
Visitation is Tuesday, July 14, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home at 2900 Williams Drive in Georgetown. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 16, at 10:00 am at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with interment at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris’ name to First United Methodist Church, Georgetown or Harbor Hospice.
