Diann Reese passed away on Tuesday morning November 26, 2023. Diann was born on October 24, 1949, in Taylor, Texas to Frank and Bertha Jackson. She was the baby girl out of 12 children. She graduated from Thrall High School and enjoyed playing dominos, playing spades and hanging out with her family. She loved life, people and most of all her family. Diann was married to Melvin James Reese Jr. and they shared 30+ years together.
Diann was preceded in death by her loving parents Frank and Bertha Jackson. Her brothers Freddie Leroy Jackson, Tommie Narvell Jackson, Charlie Jackson and PH Jackson. Her sisters Martha Mae Williams, Bettye Joyce Jackson, Frankie Lea Blanks (Cat), Frances Irene Webb, Edna Earl Sinnie, Viola Jackson and her amazing daughter Sherry Sharie Reese.
Her beautiful life will be cherished by her husband Melvin James Reese Jr, brother Edward Eugene Jackson of King City, CA, son Patrick Williams of San Francisco, CA, and her grandchildren Sh’Kendra “Dominique” Reese, Brianna (Cody) Wright, Dwayne (Romesha) Howard and Great Grandchildren Kaidyn Green, Ka’Miyah Howard, Kyla Howard and Conner Wright. Diann also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that adored her, and many other family members and friends.
Diann had started studying the Bible with the Jehovah Witnesses while in Austin Texas and continued to do so once she moved into the Pflugerville Rehabilitation. She loved reading the Bible and never passed up on having a good prayer said, as she called it. Diann was not able to attend the meetings, but participated by listening in on Zoom, until she lost the use of controlling her hands.
In the 75 years that Diann lived, she was so many things to so many people. She was a daughter, a sister, a hero, a wife, a mother, a mee-maw, an aunt and a friend. Diann truly had a heart of gold, always looking out for others, lending a listening ear, or arms out for a hug. She will be truly missed. But one thing that gives us comfort is knowing she is no longer in pain or suffering. The Bible at Ecc. 9:5 assures of this for it says, "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all."
On behalf of the family, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the many friends who showed their support during these difficult times. Also, to Pflugerville Rehabilitation for caring for Diann all these years, St Gabriel Hospice for all your support and care. And to SPJST for making it possible for her to be able to move and be closer to her family. You all have shown such kindness and you've been a great source of strength to all of us. May Jehovah God bless each and every one of you for your various expressions of love.
A visitation for Diann will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 PM. Diann will be cremated following her services per her wishes.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home of Georgetown, Texas.
